INTRODUCTION

With rapid growth of technological advancement particularly in the aviation sector, India has taken the lead in the fields of Aviation and aerospace engineering. Airlines operators like Air India, Indian Airlines, Jet Airways, Kingfisher, Spicejet, Indigo and many other scheduled and nonscheduled operators have ordered commercial aircraft and Helicopters as well as wide body jets (Airbus A 380, A 340 and Boeing 777,747 etc). All these aero planes can carry over 400 passengers and capable of flying non-stop at a stretch from 13 to 18 hours like Singapore to Los Angles, Mumbai to New York and beyond.

Operations of all these aircraft will obviously generate hundreds of jobs opportunities in the skilled categories like pilots, Aeronautical Engineers, Aircraft Maintenance Engineers, Aircraft technicians, Air Traffic Controllers, Flight dispatchers, Airport administration, Commercial operation and Security services and Cabin crew services. All these sectors will demand properly trained people with certified skill. The need for proper training in the specialized section is becoming more intense with the passage of times. Therefore Institutions which can provide required skill sets to the satisfaction of the prospective employers will also be forefront in the market place.

In order to achieve the above mentioned objectives, PG GROUP- SKY AIR ACADEMY, located at Lake Town, Kolkata has been initiated by a group of professionals from the Aviation sectors having more than 3 decades of skilled experience in their respective fields. This Institute has been approved by “International Air Transport Associations (IATA) and therefore is now a “IATA Authorized Training Centre in Kolkata “.
